For more than a year, remote monitoring specialists at Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions have been identifying the efficiencies of loaders and trucks operating underground at privately held Magris Performance Materials’ Niobec mine in Quebec.

Following a successful implementation at its Loulo-Gounkoto underground complex in Mali, West Africa, mining giant Barrick Gold Corporation is adopting Sandvik’s Remote Monitoring Service (RMS) for its entire global underground fleet of more than 200 connected Sandvik trucks, loaders and drills.

Remote Monitoring Service is a new set of advanced digital services. The system can translate vast amounts of data acquired from underground mining equipment into actionable recommendations, thus reducing operating costs and boosting productivity and sustainability.
